Heidi Langridge

Heidi Langridge is a painter whose work is dedicated exclusively to the subject of birds; a focus born from a deep concern for the loss of natural habitats for many of our native garden species.

Placing her birds centre stage against a backdrop of vibrant, complementary colours and billowing forms, Heidi’s paintings have a sense of the dramatic, giving focus to the birds without being too realistic. Rather, Heidi’s aim is to celebrate the beauty and wonder of our native species through her own unique visual language. As Heidi describes it:

‘These paintings are all about bringing birds closer into my life. If there is a heaven for birds, this could be it!’

Heidi lives on the South Downs, where she has been working from her seafront studio in Brighton for nearly twenty years.
