Laura Hollis

Laura Hollis is a multidisciplinary artist whose work in ceramics and silk painting is deeply rooted in the natural beauty of the surrounding Kent countryside, where she lives with her young family. Since graduating from university in 2001 with a degree in print media and surface design, Laura has developed a distinctive aesthetic based on pattern and texture. Her vibrant silk paintings, which evolved naturally from her university studies, appeal to adults and children alike, and she regularly shares her passion through community workshops.

Her transition into pottery began with a local evening class and rapidly grew into a creative addiction. Laura fully immersed herself in the craft at the historic Aylesford Pottery, progressing from a studio assistant to an accomplished teacher. This intensive hands-on experience allowed her to refine her signature ceramic style, which focuses on wheel-thrown functional pieces that are cut away to reveal unique fossil designs, alongside animal sculptures inspired by the local wildlife.
